Welcome to the Vanderhoof Visitor Centre

Visitor Centre Services

The Vanderhoof Visitor Centre offers convenient and friendly information to visitors coming to the Heart of BC. The Vanderhoof Visitor Center can help you find something that suits your needs. We provide:

  • information about accommodation, road conditions, and tourist alerts.
  • information about local attractions, hunting, fishing, hiking, and outdoor adventure.
  • assistance with trip planning.
  • Maps for Sale.
  • Also have different Souvenirs for Sale!!

What Types of Attractions are in Vanderhoof?

Throughout the year Vanderhoof offers visitors and citizens a great diversity of events, attractions, shopping and dining locally. Vanderhoof has opportunities for those interested in art, culture, history, sports, birding, sight seeing, hiking, swimming, boating, and children's events to name just a few. For further details, click on the links in the navigation bar to the left.

For example, during the summer months, be sure to stop by our spray pool at Ferland Park, or fly your kite in Riverside Park that is part of the Bird Sanctuary on the Nechako River. The annual Nechako Valley Exhibition is a must for horse lovers and farming enthusiasts. The Hooterville Hoot is a wonderful show and shine that will please the car enthusiast in your family. The fascinating Vanderhoof Community Museum is open from the end of May to Labour Day weekend.

Chamber hosted events such as the Great Pumpkin Walk and fireworks on Halloween is a must see event. On the first Friday in December, the Annual Parade of Lights in Vanderhoof offers up a dramatic parade and good shopping afterwards during Midnight Madness. Learn more about other Chamber Events.

How to Get Here

At the Geographical Centre of British Columbia... turn into Vanderhoof at Highway 16 and Burrard Ave. Cross the railroad tracks and the Visitor Centre is immediately on the left. Take a quick left into the parking lot, or park your RV in the Co-op Mall parking lot on the right after the railroad tracks. For further instructions click here.
